Logan Hicks

New York based artist Logan Hicks, along with Shepard Fairey, has one of the most influental artists in my own artwork and lead to my experimentation with stencils as a viable medium for creating fine art. Logan’s photo realistic images helped me realize that the medium can be used to create vivid, detailed images, not the flat single color works that I had previously associated with stencils.

Logan’s gritty, industrial subject matter juxtaposed with vibrant colors, handmade and hand sprayed stencils adds an organic, human touch to an otherwise sterile landscape.

To better appreciate the amount of work that goes into producing one of these pieces here are a couple of time lapse video of Logan hand cutting and spraying his stencils.

Along with original artwork, Logan has this outstanding 32″ x 22″ screenprint available titled Locust Plague in his store. The Print is limited to an edition of 55 and is priced at $350.
