Our Humble Studio

Our studio is located in the garage of our suburban Detroit home. In it we can screen print, letter press, paint, collage, hammer, nail, cut, glue, tape, staple and spray.

Our silkscreen “press” consists of a piece of 3/4″ masonite with two hinges from Dick Blick attached to them. While not a true professional press, it is affordable and does get the job done quite nicely. With it we are able to screen shirts, prints, invitations. In time we will also hope to make limited edition prints with it.

Our letterpress is from a plan we found in ReadyMade, with some minor changes. For example, we supplemented expensive lexan for a granite countertop remnant that we had found at a garage sale.

‘Faatina’, spraypaint and collage on canvas. 54″ x 36″.

Some of the collage work that goes into a painting before the stencils are sprayed.

Some ornate stencils from Christina.

OUR LATEST GIGPOSTER
We got to design and print a poster for Darling Imperial's farewell show at the Berkley Front. They let us do whatever we wanted, so we went with vintage lettering and a weathered, faded feel.
