Recap – Transliteration at 323 East Gallery

Dennis Jacobs

Dan Armand
Last year, I was lucky enough to be invited by 323 East Gallery to be part of a two person show in 2012. That show, featuring my work and the work of Dan Armand opened this past Saturday. The show, titled “Transliteration” featured work that spanning multiple mediums. In all, the show featured 33 pieces, including collage, paintings, and sculptures, all with underlying, often political, literary themes.
Much more, including photos from the opening behind the cut.
Beautiful Monstrosities at 323 East In Royal Oak

Two of our favorite artists, Audrey Pongracz and April Segedi have a show opening this weekend at 323 East Gallery in Royal Oak Michigan. They were each nice enough to answer a few questions for us regarding their work for the show.
Read the interview, as well as get a sneak peek of some of the art from the show behind the cut.
Recap: Lyric at 323 East
We went to the opening for Lyric curated by Glenn Barr at 323 East in Royal Oak. The pieces was amazing, and it was great to be able to see the work of internationally know artists in person in Detroit.
The place was absolutely packed, so I went back earlier this week and took some detail shots of the artwork when things were a little quieter. The show is up through April 19th, so if you’re in the Metro Detroit area, I highly suggest you check it out in person.

Lyric at 323 East
323 East has once again teaming up with Detroit artist Glenn Barr. This time he is acting as curator for “Lyric”, where participating artists are asked to transcribe music and words to canvas. Glenn has compiled an impressive roster of artists, including Jeff Soto, Gary Taxali, and Calef Brown, Chet Zar, amongst other giants. 323 East just put up a preview for the show online, and it is stunning. To get more insight on the show, check out this interview with Glenn by Robert de Valle. Lyric opens tomorrow, Saturday, March 19th and runs through April 19th.
