Alisa Bobzien

We’ve been super busy keeping up with holiday craft shows for the past month and have been completely slacking on our blog. On the upside we’ve had a chance to meet so many talented people, whom we will profile on the site in the upcoming week.

Ann Arbor’s Alisa Bobzien, whose work we absolutely loved at this years Detroit Urban Craft Fair, creates these ornate screen prints.

Upcoming Holiday Craft Shows

Winter is coming.

This upcoming weekend brings the first of three Holiday craft shows that we are doing. We will be, for the third time, vending at Crafty Supermarket in Cincinnati on Saturday, November 19th. This is the only out of state show we’re doing and it’s one of our favorites we do all year.

On December 3rd and 4th we will be participating in our second Detroit Urban Craft Fair, which is this year being held at the Masonic Temple.

One week later, on December 10th and 11th we will be part of DIYpsi, held at the Corner Brewery. We are super excited to be in this show. This will be the first time we’ve vended at DIYpsi, and the Ypsilanti / Ann Arbor area in general.

UPDATE: We’ll also be a vendor at the 6th year anniversary Holiday Baar Bazaar! This is always a really fun late night show with live music. Baar Bazaar is Saturday, December 17th from 8pm to 2am at The Majestic Theater.

This is our favorite time of year. Despite all of the sleepless nights and stress associated with the planning for Holiday shows, we love hanging out with all of the other artists that we’ve met over the last year and a half we’ve been doing craft shows. We’ve been hard at work on newly designed holiday cards, mixtape kits, book marks, and will have over 20 different screen printed posters available.

There are a ton of great craft shows in Michigan this time of year, and Amanda Schott, of Dang Argyle posted a show guide on her site.

We hope to see you at the shows!

CrawlSpace Studios

CrawlSpace Studios is a two person design studio who make screen printed posters and shirts out of their basement in Denver, Colorado. I love their use of photos as the basis of their designs and really put halftone to good use in their prints.

Quail Lane Press

While perusing Etsy this morning I came across the work of Michelle Murdock, aka Quail Lane Press. Michelle, a Tahoe City native, creates prints inspired by her surrounds and love for the outdoors. Her prints are a combination of letterpress type and linoleum cuts.
