Beautiful Monstrosities at 323 East In Royal Oak

Two of our favorite artists, Audrey Pongracz and April Segedi have a show opening this weekend at 323 East Gallery in Royal Oak Michigan. They were each nice enough to answer a few questions for us regarding their work for the show.
Read the interview, as well as get a sneak peek of some of the art from the show behind the cut.
Recap: Snowflakes + Candy Canes @ 323East
323 East‘s opened their holiday show, Snowflakes + Candy Canes on December 3rd. What is unique about this show is that each piece is priced at $250 or lower (with most pieces being much lower) and the ability of the collector to take home a piece as soon as it is purchased. 323 East did an excellent job curating the show, with standout work by Charmaine Olivia, Kelly Louise Judd, and Megan Frauenhoffer.
Other artists include: Dan Armand, Miss April, Audrey Pongracz, Tim Gralewski, Sheri Debow, Jacqui Gallant, Dennis Jacobs, Maria Finna, DeEtta Harris, Himamshu Sharma, Christen Spencer, Nicole Cummings, Grant Gilliand, Marsha Spaniel, Talking Squid, Christine Benjamin, Matt Eaton, Brian Rubenacker, Robin Dunivant, Cedric Tai, Peter DeAngelo, Mike Han, and Robert Keith.

Recap: Natural Resources 3 @ Lift
We’ve been playing catchup after our World Tour of Ohio ended in Cleveland this past weekend. A full month ago now, we visited Lift Detroit to see Natural Resources 3. Artists customized Mike Burnett’s Neighborwood and Average Joe Schmo wood toys for this traveling show. Detroit was the last leg of the three city tour. Check out the gallery behind the cut to see renditions of these toys from many artists, including Detroit faves Kill Taupe, Heather Hansma, Audrey Pongracz and Carl Oxley III.

Ladies Night @ My Plastic Heart
Audrey Pongracz is going to be part of an all-female show opening tomorrow at My Plastic Heart in New York. This group exhibition is called Ladies Night and will run into the new year. I absolutely love the two new paintings that she did for this show.
1xRUN: A Print A Week by 323East
This week, 323East debuted 1xRUN, which will bring you one super limited edition print each Monday. A few weeks ago, we happen to stumble into the gallery while they were working on the site, and from the sneak peek we were given, we knew right away it was going to be awesome.

Matt Eaton’s print “Loaf” (above) kicked things off and also made us look forward to his first ever solo show opening this Saturday. Coming up, they’re going to release prints by Bask, Glenn Barr, Audrey Pongracz, David Chung and Adam Batchelor.

Audrey Pongracz - "3rd House"

Glenn Barr - "Without Pity"
Not only will 1xRUN make great pieces of art more accessible to everyone, but it also lets people outside Detroit enjoy the extremely well curated work that we get to see in person. We suggest that you like 1xRUN on Facebook or follow @1xRUN on Twitter so you can nerd out with us every Monday.

OUR LATEST GIGPOSTER
We got to design and print a poster for Darling Imperial's farewell show at the Berkley Front. They let us do whatever we wanted, so we went with vintage lettering and a weathered, faded feel.
