Synth: the Moogfest Poster Show

Thanks to our friends at Get A Clue Design for clueing us in (horrible pun intended) about Moogfest and its accompanying art show, Synth. In addition to amazing bands getting together in Asheville, NC over Halloween weekend, many of our gigposter faves produced prints.

You guys have no idea how excited I was to hear that such a fest even exists! I’ve dreamed of owning a Moog for a decade. I’ve played piano since I was 5, and my formative grunge-baby years provided no place for keyboards among the flannel shirts and distortion pedals. As Weezer gave way to bands like The Rentals and The Anniversary, playing the keyboard became cool again and the Moog Prodigy became the Holy Grail I would never own. I even dated a guy that had one, but he wouldn’t even take it out of his closet and plug it in for me to play (relationship FAIL).

/lifestory. Sorry I turned the blog into my LiveJournal today.

Get a Clue Design

I really like the gig posters from North Carolina’s Get A Clue Design. Founded in 2003, Get a Clue Design consists of Matt Pfahlert and his wife. They run their studio out of the upper floor of their home. Photos of which can be seen at This Ain’t No Disco.

As for their philosophy as stated in their Communication Arts profile: “Taking that leap is totally worth it—even if you twist your ankle.” Awesome!
