A Couple of Questions for RageHaus

The last year has seen huge changes for Kimberly and Derek Munn of RageHaus. They made a big move from Virginia to New York to expand their design careers. Derek is attending SVA’s graduate program for Designer as Author and Kimberly is a designer at a stationery company called Mr. Boddington’s Studio. While many of their collaborative projects are momentarily on the back burner, their toy camera photo blog Yellow Polka Dots is going strong as they capture their explorations of New York City.

A Couple of Questions for Brainstorm

We love Brainstorm! We met Briana and Jason at Renegade this summer, after spending WAY too long going through their scratch-and-dent pile of screenprinted posters. We were like 1 year olds with our first piece of birthday cake – you start with a taste and the next thing you know, your whole face is in it. Why do we always end up holding all screenprinted matter less than 2 inches from our noses? Hopefully YOU will get to see them this year, as they’re planning to travel from Philly to craft shows farther around the country that they haven’t been to yet. Add on some gallery shows and plenty of new prints, and these guys will have a busy year ahead.

A Couple of Questions for enormouschampion

enormouschampion is a collaboration between Jordan Provost and Jason Wong that results in beautifully designed cards, prints, and other paper goods. Their latest project together is a brand new line of e-greeting cards, which just debuted over at Paperless Post.

In addition to working on enormouschampion, each of them has their own independent endeavor: Jordan is a photographer, and Jason is one of the typographic wizards behind Friends of Type.

A Couple of Questions for Elevated Press

In 2003 Peter Baker founded the design studio Elevated Works, under the blue line elevated train in Chicago. Five years later, he joined forces with his fiancée, Michelle, to print their wedding invitations, and their printmaking arm Elevated Press came to life. Really beautiful letterpressed prints and paper goods come off of the three presses housed in their Ann Arbor studio.

Two things we didn’t know before doing this interview: one, Pete takes gorgeous photographs (I mean, SERIOUSLY gorgeous), and two, the couple is expecting their first child in July!! We hope to see little him or her manning their craft fair tables later in the year. Gotta earn your keep, kid!

And now, our interview with Pete and Michelle Baker of Elevated Press…

A Couple of Questions for Two Arms

We discovered Two Arms from their amazing posters for Ra Ra Riot, one of our favorite bands. Through this interview, we’ve come to find out that they’re also hilarious and just plain old good people.  At the end of their interview, they added: “we’re beside ourselves whenever we get a mention on a blog, a shoutout from a friend or a nice email. It truly helps when we get support from colleagues and fans. It definitely adds fuel
to the fire to keep rocking out with great design and cool posters. We can’t thank people enough for checking out our website or following up with what we’re trying to do. It’s the biggest compliment we can get.” Seriously, don’t you want to send them cookies??

Karen Goheen and Mike Tabie design and print all their texture-y goodness out of Brooklyn, but they’re both “OG Floridians”. Their contribution to the 50 and 50 State Mottos Project is one of our faves so far.
