New Prints from Lauren Moyer
Lauren Moyer just updated her Etsy shop with new prints for the holiday season. She has some screenprints, giclees of her paintings, and even some original drawings.

The Preserve: Lauren Moyer and Anna Cangialosi
Greetings, all you folks with flawless giggles! Hansma here submitting her very first post to this lovely blog. My first assignment was to cover the opening of Lauren Moyer‘s and Anna Cangialosi‘s group show, The Preserve. The show was held at one of my very favorite places, period: Starkweather Arts Center. The show is taking place in the upper part of the gallery in a beautiful room with giant windows, pine floor, and an exposed brick wall. It was a fabulous juxtapostion against the gentle, feminine nature of the two painters’ works.
The two artists works were in the same room, but kept separate. Their style works with each other, but it was nice to see each boy of work on its own instead of intermixed.
Moyer made a new screenprint series for the show called Goose Girl. She offered it framed and unframed.
Cangialosi departed from her usual style to experiment with a more ethereal style in watercolors.
Images of all the art, the artists, Jaye Thomas performing, and even an Elvis impersonator that stopped in to check out the show can be seen after the jump. Read more…
Interview with Lauren Moyer
I’m very happy that we got the chance to interview Lauren Moyer, who is a painter and illustrator who graduated from CCS. Her latest work is going to be part of a two person show at Starkweather along with Anna Cangialosi. The opening is tomorrow, September 3rd, from 6-8 pm.
Lauren was kind enough to take some time apart from getting ready to tell us about how she fell in love with painting, her travels to Alaska, and what’s next for her. She was also kind enough to include a sneak preview of her newest paintings and screenprints that will be in the show. The interview and lots of pictures are behind the cut.

We got to design and print a poster for Darling Imperial's farewell show at the Berkley Front. They let us do whatever we wanted, so we went with vintage lettering and a weathered, faded feel.
