Our Brand New Etsy Shop!

Happy September! Thanks to everyone who stopped by our booth at the People’s Arts Festival this weekend. Dennis took a whole bunch of pictures, and a recap is coming soon. In the meantime, we’re happy to announce that all of our products are finally available online in our new Etsy shop!

For the first week our shop is open, we’re offering 20% off of the print of your choice. If you see something you like, don’t wait, because our inventory is pretty low now that summer craft fair season is over. We only have single digits left in Octotree, Moth, Clara, Tea Leaves, and Unrequited Love.

Thanks very much to K. Redmond Photography for taking all of the pictures you see above, as well as many more in our shop.

Letterpress Delicacies

I found the Austin’s Letterpress Delicacies while searching Etsy. I was impressed by the fine detail and high print quality of their letterpress prints and cards available in their Etsy shop.

Silent Auction for Kids Read Comics

On a very rainy night last month, Green Brain Comics debuted a gallery full of comic themed artwork.

All of the art on display is for sale in a silent auction format. Proceeds go towards the Kids Read Comics Convention, a totally free event that unites kids with professional artists and writers from the comics and animation fields. The convention will be held on  June 12 & 13 at the Henry Ford Centennial Library in Dearborn.

The owners of Green Brain very graciously allowed me to take pictures of all of the artwork up for auction. Each of the pictures in our photo gallery (behind the cut) shows the informational card beneath it. If you’d like to bid on one of the pieces, contact Green Brain. The exhibit will hang until Friday June 11th and any remaining pieces will be auctioned off that evening during the opening reception for the Kids Read Comics Convention.

Ophelia Chong

Using wood type and a Vandercook letterpress Ophelia Chong creates these simple, yet awesome prints on found photos and old magazine pages. I love her color choices for the ink. Aside from just printmaking, Ophelia also creates beautiful collages out of hand cut paper. Much much more of her print and collage work can be viewed on her Flickr page.
