The Photography of Janna Bissett

What drew me to the work of photographer Janna Bissett, aside from her excellent compositions, is the vast amount of photographic techniques she uses in producing her art. As can be seen in her Etsy shop, she works with infrared film, cross processing, digital manipulation, and handmade elements to construct her surreal imagery.

Janna is having a solo show at the Farmington Hills City Gallery this Friday, January 15th, entitled ‘Metallics’. The show runs from January 15 through February 25th. The opening reception is January 22nd between 6pm and 9pm. Aside from photography, she also knits, sews, and makes jewelry which can be found in her other Etsy shop here. Janna also runs a blog chronicling her work and everyday life.

We got to design and print a poster for Darling Imperial's farewell show at the Berkley Front. They let us do whatever we wanted, so we went with vintage lettering and a weathered, faded feel.
